Book Review: “Leave Your Mark” by Aliza Licht

A few months ago I started looking out for some entrepreneur related books and self-guided ones that could actually help me create a better version of myself. Several months ago I bought “Leave Your Mark” book by the amazing Aliza Licht. I was looking for some books to read and I found this one on the Books app. I read the synopsis and the sample pages that Apple gives for free, and as soon as I started reading I loved it.

This book focuses on entrepreneur women, fashion, failure, and success. The author has a way of telling her story. It is really interesting and you can relate to her words and the slang she uses.

The book is sectioned in 4 parts. Each part has several chapters and they include really good and informative information. The flow of the book is really easy to follow. I don’t want to spoil the book, so I’m just going to include some of the chapters and a brief summary of what it talks.

1. Getting the job of your dreams.

In this part, Aliza talks all about three important things. The first one is finding your perfect career. She tries to explain that not everybody has their lives figured out and it takes time to get to know yourself and the things that you’re really passionate about. she even talks about her experience on deciding between two things that she liked. The second topic is related to take advantage of everything that crosses your path. She tries to persuade you to look out for all of those people who can help you succeed in your job. And the third one is related to job interviews, presentation card and curriculums, giving tips, tricks and some of the things that are really important to include in those papers.

2. Succeed in your career

In this section, Aliza gives advice on increasing your position in an enterprise or a better salary. Surviving the office pressure and people that are your co-workers. Avoiding ways of ruining big opportunities. She mentions some of her own opportunities and how each one helped her become the person she is nowadays. The key to great success has to do with hard work.

3. Rule Social Media

In this section, Aliza tells the story of her own success on Twitter, she also talks about getting to know better social media apps, the people that use them, common made mistakes, the things that should be published, the risks of social media  and how to use them in your advantage as a brand. The main purpose of this part is to show how something can create amazing brands and also destroy them easily.

4. Create your own brand

The main focus of this section is to make everyone know your brand and your name. She includes some tricks and tips that can help you become a famous brand and present yourself as a professional. She also tries to make a point in relation to cocktail parties, how to take advantage of them and the big things that somebody can create by having important people by their side.

The final parts of the book are the conclusions, glossary, and thank you letters. What I loved the most about this book is that Aliza includes several questions where you can answer them and realize if you’re doing the right thing or if you’re going through the “right” path. Also, she has a lot of tips and tricks that can help you in several situations.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. I really recommend purchasing it. I think it’s not that expensive. I’m not sure how much it costs, because I bought mine in Spanish and in Mexican currency, it was $75.00 MXN which approximately in dollars is $3.75 DLLS. Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoy this review. I already started another book which is also related to entrepreneur women and a Girl Boss theme, let me know if you want more reviews like this one on the comments below. Have a lovely day and I hope to see all your beautiful faces on my next post.
